Velvet Lanka Tours

The Dambulla Cave Temple is the best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, carved into a granite outcrop that dominates the surrounding landscape. Its five cave chambers house more than 150 Buddha statues, ancient thrones and ceiling paintings covering over 2,100 square metres of rock surface, some of which date back more than 2,000 years. The site has been a place of Buddhist worship for over two millennia and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of its cultural significance.
